BREAK THROUGH DOORS:

  • – According to God’s will, Jesus broke death’s door
    • Christ is Lord–Master–Champion of life; you – we – all will see Him
  • – Knowing Him, you have nothing to fear – even in doubt
    • He IS with us, until the end – His new beginning for all who accept
  • – In his power we GO! Open Doors, for his love to flow
    • He invites us: be/seek followers (disciples), live & teach His truth

Tell the Story of Jesus

This is week 2 of our two month long Mission Month(s).  The theme for Mission Month(s) is “Go, Open Doors!”.  As an introduction into today’s Mission Month(s)activity, Pastor Ken tells the story of the Farmer sowing seed – taken from Mark 4. Further inspiration for today’s message is taken from Matthew 13:34-35, 44-46.

Go, Open Doors!

Hosanna – Emergency 911

Hosanna – your spiritual 911.  Whats’ your Hosanna? Can you think of one you have had recently? Can you think of one that’s coming? What do you want to be saved from? Using the image of Jesus riding into Jerusalem on the back of a donkey, today Pastor Ken looks into those questions and how or what we might do for God’s help. Scripture today is taken from Matthew 21, Mark 11, Luke 19 and John 12.

Palm Sunday

Christmas Personified – Our Human Hunger

Picking up his Advent theme again this week (our Children’s Christmas Play was last Sunday), Pastor Ken begin’s this installment of ‘Christmas Personified’ with a somewhat dark tale. However, later on he bridges to Charlie Brown’s Christmas.  The Scripture passages for today are taken from Luke and Matthew.

Christmas Personified – Angels Announced

For the second Sunday of Advent, Pastor Ken looks deeper into Christmas in the series entitled “Christmas Personified”.  Christmas is many things – a time for gift giving, a time to spend with friends and family, but Christmas is not just an event; Christmas is a person.  Ken helps us understand this by putting Christ back into Christmas.  Scripture is taken from Malachi 4, Matthew 1 and Luke 1, 2.

Pastor Ken has made two publications available to guide us through Advent and Christmas.  The first is a document entitled “Christmas Day by Day” and it guides you through Christmas using Scripture.  A PDF copy can be found here – just CLICK ON THIS LINK.

The second is a document provided by the CBOQ (Canadian Baptists of Ontario and Quebec) called “Advent Reader Online”.  It features articles written by the youth of the BCOQ from all over the world; one story for each day of Advent.  You can access this directly from the BCOQ web site at http://baptist.ca/advent/ or download here – just CLICK ON THIS LINK.

Do you want to be a sheep?…Baa, Baa

We wind up our series on Jesus’ last 3 parables by drawing inspiration from the metaphor of the sheep and goats in Matthew 25:31-46. Jesus teaches on actual events in our future so listen, heed the lesson then wait and see!

Wise build their lives on the rock!

In the 2nd of the series, Pastor Ken seeks the truth for us in the parable (story) of the talents; Jesus’ story in the middle of Jesus’ passion week: Matthew 25:14-30

Give me oil in my lamp, keep me burning

Using an interactive style, Pastor Ken pursues the last 3 of Jesus’ stories (parables) before his arrest, conviction, crucifixion and resurrection. This week, read along in Matthew 25: 1-13, parable of wise and foolish bridesmaids.

This is the End! Hold your breath and count to 10.
