Are you the firstborn among your siblings? Even if you are not, you know there are certain expectations and responsibilities of those who are. The firstborn seem to rise to the occasion and take on those responsibilities… sometimes, much to the chagrin of those of us who are not the firstborn.
Did you ever to stop to think about Jesus in this regard? He is a first born also. Not just the first son of Mary; the first son of Joseph. He is also the firstborn (son) of God. And it does not stop there.
Today, we celebrate the first Sunday of Advent. Pastor Ken speaks about ‘Joy’. As Ken consults Luke 2:4-7, he looks deeper into this very special firstborn.
