As a church member, you are entitled to vote at the Annual General Meeting. If you are unable to attend, please give your proxy to someone you trust. When you give your proxy, you are assigning your vote to them.
In practice, what this means is the person you give your proxy to will have their vote and your vote – they cannot be separated. Their vote will carry the weight of your vote as well.
For example:
You assign your proxy to person “A”. At the AGM, a motion is made to elect the church council to their positions. When person “A” votes, their vote is counted as 2 votes in the direction they voted – one for themselves and one for yours.
