Birchmount Baseball Camp for the Summer 2013

We are no longer going to run the Summer Baseball Camp.  Below is the text of an email and letter that went out to all the parents for whom we had contact information on file at that time.

The good news – our Ministry to Children and Youth (formerly the Christian Education Committee) is planning a one-week Summer Camp for this summer in July.  The camp is called: GO in T.O.  Click HERE for and overview and a PDF copy of the camp brochure.

Hello,

On behalf of our Church Council Chairman – Sandy Ng, & Deacon Chair – Don Hepburn, I wanted to send you this news about Birchmount Baseball Camp.

As many of you know, Birchmount Baseball camp began in 2002 as a partnership between the Birchmount Baseball League, Athletes in Action and Fallingbrook Heights Baptist Church at the Centre.  Over the years, over 600 kids have attended, baseball skills have developed, and we – as a church fellowship – have enjoyed investing in the community. A great deal of this success has been due to excellent coaches, staff & volunteers: YOU.

Late last year, after much discussion and deliberation, Church leadership decided to discontinue baseball camp. This decision was made for a number of reasons including: changes in partnership dynamics, refocusing of leadership, needs of the community, and a belief that it was time for a change. We are confident that Baseball Camp has served its purpose.

While we regret this change, we celebrate a decade of fun, friendship building, character development, and look forward to new opportunities to serve our community.

We do appreciate your efforts, contributions, and care about you. Please stay in touch. Your ideas of community development, camp needs, are appreciated: pastor_ken@sympatico.ca. As a Church we continue to operate from the Birchmount Community Centre. We meet Sundays at 10:30 am for a celebration service for all (other times & locale by program).
