Hosea – Love Gone Wrong

Today, Pastor Ken begins a series on Hosea. For the next few weeks he is going to look at the Bible expositionally.  In other words read from a section of the bible and see what it means to us; what we learn from it.  We start with Hosea Chapter 1.

Duck, Duck, Goose! … in God’s Vineyard

Pastor Ken’s message is introduced today by a Scripture reading by two young ladies from our FHBcatc youth. As he has done all this month, Pastor Ken uses the analogy of school yard games to frame his Message.  Today he uses Duck, Duck, Goose and King of the Hill … and … Tag You’re It!  Have a listen to this week’s podcast to learn about how the parables from Matthew 25 pertain to our daily lives in God’s Vineyard.

Playing Dodge Ball … in God’s Vineyard

Pastor Ken’s message is introduced today by a Scripture reading from one of our FHBcatc youth.  After the Scripture, Ken explains to us how we are all playing Dodge Ball in God’s vineyard.  There are three balls thrown at us – one to avoid, one to catch and one to throw.

  • Ball #1 – God’s Invitation – Are you dodging it or are you catching it?
  • Ball #2 – The Temptations in life to do something other than worship God.
  • Ball #3 – Is what you are doing in life – doing good or doing bad?

Listen to this week’s podcast to see how Pastor Ken uses the Parable of the Wedding Feast to tell us how we are all playing Dodge Ball in God’s Vineyard.

The Scripture reading is taken from Matthew 22 and Luke 14.

Red Rover, Red Rover… C’mon Over

Today, Pastor Ken uses the children’s game of Red Rover as the backdrop for his message.  Are you playing a game of Red Rover in God’s Vineyard?  And… which direction are you running?  Are you running the Life Run or the Death Run?  Listen to this week’s podcast and see for yourself.  The Scripture passage today is taken from Matthew 21:23-32.

Hide and Seek in God’s Vineyard … Not It!

Today Pastor Ken uses the analogy of the children’s game Hide and Seek for his message.  Are you playing a game of hide and seek with God?  Listen to this week’s podcast to see what kind game you may be playing in God’s vineyard.  Scripture this week is taken from Matthew 21, Mark 12 and Luke 20.

How to Survive ’17 …without losing your significant others

Today Pastor Ken wraps up his series on ‘How to Survive 2017’.  Over the past four week’s Ken has plumbed the depths of 3 Scripture passages – Isaiah 43:19-25, Luke 4:14-19, Romans 12:1-2.  Today Ken speaks about how to survive without losing your significant others.

3 Simple steps to ‘keep’ your significant others:

  • LISTEN / SPEAK to them
”Love them as you love yourself”
  • HELP them
“Seek their success – in their & God’s terms”
  • USE tech, time mgmt, crafts, card…every tool you have to BE significant to your significant other.
    ”Die to self…Live for them”

How to Survive ’17 …with a healthy Soul

Pastor Ken continues with his series on ‘How to Survive 2017… without losing your Sanity, Soul or Significant Others’. As he has done for the last two weeks, Ken looks at the same 3 Scripture passages this week. (Scripture: Isaiah 43:19-25, Luke 4:14-19, Romans 12:1-2).  This time for inspiration on how to survive 2017 with a healthy soul.

He starts with three soul truths:

  1. You/ I are a SOUL…need joy, love, rest, peace, others
    Admit: “ I’m a soul”
  2. Natural causes cannot kill a soul – ‘we’ survive this life.
    Care for your soul.
  3. Your soul has been immature & sick. (Psalm 42)
Seek your soul’s maturity & healing.

How to Survive ’17

How to Survive 2017… without losing your Sanity, Soul or Significant Others.  This is the subject for Pastor Ken’s messages in January of 2017.  This month Ken looks at the same 3 Scripture passages each week. (Scripture: Isaiah 43:19-25, Luke 4:14-19, Romans 12:1-2)  The more we look at these passages, the richer and fuller they become.  This week Pastor Ken delves into how we can go beyond just surviving 2017; but how do we thrive in 2017.

3 easy ways :

  • Believe in what’s real & true – ‘keep your sanity’
  • Exercise Faith & Love with/for God: “source of truth”
  • Die to Self! On issues which you & God have a difference of opinion: He’s right, I/ you are not.
