May is Missions Month !

May is Missions Month! – While all of us have been affected by the global COVID-19 pandemic, those struggling with poverty are among the most severely impacted.  FHBCATC has partnered with several organizations which provide food and care to the hungry in our community as well as children and their families in low-resource settings in other countries.

In January 2020 we made a decision to partner with Feeding Los Cabos Kids, an organization affiliated with a Christian church – Cabo Church based in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.  Their mission is to share God’s love and provide food to hungry children.  During the month of May, we are having a special fundraising effort on their behalf.

We encourage you to continue to support missions, as you are able and as God leads you, as a practical expression of your faith and as a way to help others in need during this crisis.

Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.  2 Corinthians, Chapter 4:16-18 

More About Feeding Los Cabos Kids

• Los Cabos Kids operates 14 kitchens and provides more than 10,000 meals every month
• Most kitchens feed children between one and six days a week
• Their mission relies in part on churches who travel to Los Cabos on mission trips, because of the lack of travel, their monetary and clothing donations have been negatively impacted
• The kitchens remain operational during COVID-19 with workers wearing protective gear and meals being prepared to-go

Our Church’s commitment

We have committed to providing Los Cabos Kids $1,000 in funding. During mission month, we have set a goal of raising an additional $2,600. This support would enable Los Cabos Kids to fully fund one of their kitchens for three months.
