As important as spiritual gifts are, they are not the measure of spiritual maturity. Spiritual gifts work on others, but the Fruit of the Spirit work in us. The Fruit of the Spirit are the true measure of spiritual maturity because they are the character of God himself. Sanctification is becoming like Jesus, so the Fruit of the Spirit are the measure of our sanctification and the measure of our spiritual maturity.
