Regifting Christmas Presence – Faith & Hope

Truth, Justice and Mercy – February 23, 2014

Should you not ‘Judge Not?‘? If there are ‘two or three gathered’, is Jesus the deciding vote? Isn’t justice, mercy’s opponent? Pastor Ken tackles truth, justice & mercy evenly apply in the church in a message titled “Justice for All, Not just for Us”.  Inspiration this week is from Deuteronomy 19 and Matthew 5, 7, 12.

2013 Year End Bedtime Story – December 29, 2013

If you have been following our podcasts, you may have noticed we missed podcasts for the last two weeks.  December 15th was our church Christmas play and last Sunday (December 22nd), we were unable to hold the service due to a major ice storm and the resulting power outages.

This week, Ken resumes and finishes his series for Advent 2013 with a review and update on the events of this past Christmas.  First, with the latest status on your favourite Christmas movies.  And then, with a look back at that first Christmas and the events that happened after Christmas day.  Inspiration is taken from Scripture:  Matthew 2:13-23, Mark 6:1-6 and John 1:10-14.

Advent’s Sights, Lights and Fights – December 8, 2013

Ken continues his Advent series with Part II – The Setting.  This week Ken’s message is entitled “Advent’s Sights, Lights and Fights”.  Now, you may think of this title in context of Christmas today – with the decorated Christmas trees, multi-coloured lighting displays and the challenge of Christmas shopping at the mall… but… Ken looks back to that first Christmas to help us discover the sights, lights and fights.  He uses Luke 1:5-19, 26-35, 57-79, John 1:6-9, Matthew 1:18-20 to tell the story.

The Sights, Sounds and Tragedies of Christmas – December 1, 2013

Today is the first Sunday of Advent.  Ken begins a five part series about the real story of Christmas taken from Matthew, Luke, Mark and John.  Part I is “The Introduction”; with a little help from Charlie Brown and his friends. Scripture today is from John 1:1-5, Matthew 1:1 and Luke 1:1-4.

Missio Dei (Gods’ Mission) Part 4 – May 26, 2013

Ken continues on with Part 4 of his series on ‘Missio Dei’. Today he explores the question of “How do we recognize God’s Mission?”.  The Scripture text for today is taken from Matthew 25:31-40.

Identity Crisis Sign Up:________ – March 17, 2013

On this, Saint Patrick’s Day, Ken speaks of identity crises.  Starting with St. Patrick himself (before his famed snake exodus) then moving on to Jesus (Prophet, Messiah, Son of God?) and finishing with you and me.  Inspiration is from Matthew 16:13-20 and Matthew 17:1-5.

LOVE: Love like a Love Song – March 3, 2013

LOVE (Liberally Operating with Vigorous Expression). Once again, Ken dives deep into the consolidated Scripture passage of Matthew 22:34, Mark 12:28 and Luke 10:25 to look at Love.  ‘Love like a love Song’.  This week with a little help from Selena Gomez.

LOVE: What is Love, anyway? – February 24, 2013

LOVE (Liberally Operating with Vigorous Expression).  Ken looks at the same Scripture passage we have used for the passed two weeks.  This time, with the point of view: ‘What is Love, anyway?’. The Scripture is an amalgamation of Matthew 22:34, Mark 12:28 and Luke 10:25.
