Giving helps your church share Jesus with the community

Give with credit or debit card

Making a gift to Fallingbrook Heights Baptist Church at the Centre is easy, just click the circle in the bottom right hand corner of the screen and you’ll be taken to our giving page.

Use your Visa, Mastercard credit card or debit card from a Canadian bank with the Visa or Mastercard logo to give directly from your bank account.

When you make a gift, you’ll notice the credit card processing fee is included – called a convenience fee. This allows you to cover the cost of the card processing fee, receive a tax receipt for the entire amount and ensure your church receives the entirety of the gift you intended to give.

Giving FAQS

Why is a fee added to my gift?

Fallingbrook Heights Baptist Church has used several solutions to facilitate online giving. Most solutions result in a fee being charged by the card processor and the company facilitating the online transaction.

For example, a gift of $100 would result in the card processor taking $2 and the transaction facilitator taking $1.75. This $1.75 fee the transaction facilitator receives is called a revenue share.

After these fees, the church receives the remainder: $96.25.

In a two year period, these fees totaled almost $3,600. Our current platform does away with the revenue share fee and the card processor fee is the lowest in Canada.

When making a gift to your church, you’ll see a convenience. This is the card processor fee and by listing it, it provides transparency and allows you to know 100% of your intended gift is going to the church.

The total amount of your gift, including the convenience fee, will be included on your tax receipt.

When do I get my tax receipt?

After each gift, you’ll receive a receipt via email. However, this is not your official receipt but definitely can be used for tax planning. You will be issued an official tax receipt during tax season each year directly from the church.

I’d like to give securities (stocks, mutual funds and securities), how do I do that?

Giving a gift of securities eliminates the capital gains tax that would be payable when selling the securities and then making a gift. You can make a gift of securities via our partner on their website

What gift options are there?

There are three different types of gift options:

  • A one-time gift
  • A recurring gift
  • A scheduled gift

If you choose to make a one-time gift, your gift will be processed upon submission of the giving form. When you choose a recurring gift, your gift will be processed on the schedule you specify.

With both options, you are able to schedule the gift, whether it be a one-time gift where you select a date in the future for it to be processed, or a recurring gift where you schedule the start date of the gift.

Is giving online secure?

Yes! Our giving platform uses 256-bit encryption, which is the same level as every major bank. In addition, secure tokens are used, so that givers’ information is protected. It is also PCI compliant along with the Tier 1 processing partner used (one of the top 3 in the world).

This means every transaction through our giving platform meets a set of security standards designed to ensure that ALL companies that accept, process, store or transmit credit card information maintain a secure environment.

Are failed payments retried automatically?

For one-time gifts, the system never tries to automatically reprocess a failed payment. If you see an error, the gift didn’t complete and it will not be tried again.

For recurring gifts the system tries to reprocess the gift 3 times (with a day in between each attempt). If they all fail, we pause the gift to prevent any warning signs going through to your bank about suspicious activity. With each attempt at reprocessing the gift, we will also send you an email each time it fails, notifying you of the failed payment.
