Iron to Iron Mentorship Workshop

We are excited to kick off Iron to Iron Mentorship initiative with a Mentoring Workshop!

A mentoring relationship is an intentional relationship between two people: a mentor (ie: an older or more experienced person), and a mentee (ie: a younger or less experienced person). The purpose of Christian mentorship is to leverage the experience and spiritual maturity of the mentor for the spiritual growth of the mentee.

To kick off this endeavor, we are holding a Mentoring Workshop Saturday January 6th, 12 noon to 3 pm with Christian walk, Church & Life mentors Mel & Susan Finlay.

Location: The Reach – 1666 Kingston Rd, Toronto

Lunch will be served from noon to 1 pm; the workshop will begin at 1 pm.

You have what it takes to be a Mentor or a Mentee.

If you are interested in learning more about mentorship, being a mentor or having a mentor, OR to sign up for the Mentoring Workshop, please contact me for more information. You do not have to commit to Iron to Iron Mentorship in order to attend this great workshop.

Blessings,

Compassion Canada – Letter-Writing Evening

Fallingbrook Heights Baptist Church in partnership with Compassion Canada, is hosting a letter-writing event for those who sponsor Compassion children, and anyone who would like to learn more about writing letters to unsponsored children!

Do you sponsor a child with Compassion Canada? If so, you know that one of the most unique and beautiful parts of child sponsorship is the opportunity to build a relationship with the child you sponsor through letter writing. The children love to receive letters!

But sometimes letter writing can be a bit challenging.  It can be hard to find time and difficult to know what to say to a child who lives in a very different context from your own.

To make this easier (and more fun!) Fallingbrook Heights Baptist Church, in partnership with Compassion Canada, is hosting a letter-writing event for Compassion children at The Reach.  This event is not only for those who currently sponsor a Compassion child! Anyone who would like to learn more about writing letters to Compassion children is welcome to come.

There will be coffee and snacks and a chance to share stories about the children you sponsor.  There will also be a special presentation by Aimee Esparaz on Compassion’s work in releasing children from poverty and the impact of receiving letters from sponsors.
