CBOQ Assembly (Conference)

All Hands On DECK

CBOQ Assembly  – June 13 to 15, 2024

Assembly serves as the annual conference of CBOQ’s churches. The 2024 theme, “All Hands on Deck,” underscores the vital role each church and individual plays in making a difference. FHBC is gearing up to participate fully, with several attendees slated to represent us at the AGM. Attendees will engage in learning sessions, spiritual growth, and connections.   If you are interested in attending Assembly 2024, please speak with Lila;  your Registration costs will be covered.

“How Strong are our Ropes?” When the call-to-action echoes, reminiscent of a captain summoning “All Hands on Deck,” swift response is crucial.  Yet, as FHBC charts its course forward, we must assess the condition of our “ropes” both individually and collectively. Let’s persist in prayer for FHBC, aligning ourselves with God’s work within our church, and together, let’s raise our sails unitedly.

The Humanity of Grief and Loss

In our culture, we tend to suppress uncomfortable feelings like grief and loss.  But the Bible models taking these feelings, and the experiences that cause them, to God so that, through them, God can draw us closer to Him and shape our character to be more like His.

The Wilderness

Welcome Rev. David Williams!

This week marks an exciting milestone as we extend a warm welcome to Pastor Dave Williams, who joins us for his inaugural Sunday as our pastor. We’re eager to embark on this journey together, embracing his guidance and wisdom as we navigate this transitional period in our congregation.

PODCAST

The first week after Easter, often referred to as the Easter Octave, is a time of joy and celebration as we commemorate Jesus’ triumph over sin and death through resurrection. Despite this joy, we acknowledge the possibility of facing wilderness experiences, as Jesus did after his baptism. Pastor Dave’s message, “The Wilderness,” explores Jesus’ temptation in Mark 1:12-13. Just as Jesus emerged strengthened, we too can overcome. In Mark 1:35-37, Jesus prioritizes prayer despite demands. Let’s renew our commitment to prayer and trust in God’s provision during the Easter Octave, resisting temptation. Easter assures us that in the wilderness, Christ sustains and guides us, leading us to abundant life.
