From Our Council Chair

October 4, 2020

Friends,

A few weeks ago our Church Council decided to share with you what Sunday Celebration will look like into the coming months. Since that time, little over two weeks ago, so much has changed; which just points out the theme for 2020 – which is been change. Today I’m going to share with you how we will worship together on Sundays through at least January 2021. Also, I’d like to invite you to share your thoughts and feedback on our Church’s way forward, specifically around Sunday Celebration.

As you are familiar, we have called the Birchcliffe Room, in the Birchmount Community Center, home for over 20 years. With the exception of a Community Centre closures for Christmas day or being unable to meet because of a Lion’s Club Bazaar, we have been faithful in meeting there every Sunday. Currently, the City of Toronto has introduced regulations that only 10 people can meet in one room for any given event. Clearly this isn’t a viable solution for us to meet and worship together.

In response, we have made the decision to continue producing the Sunday celebration videos on YouTube and to also meeting together in person at The Reach on Sunday mornings. If you would like to meet with us at The Reach on Sunday mornings, please visit our website at churchatthecentre.com and let us know you would like to attend.

This leads us to the question: When is the right time, if at all, to return to meeting together in the Birchcliffe Room? This is where we really appreciate your input and feedback. Available right now at churchatthecentre.com/church-survey you can share some of your thoughts by answering a few simple and short questions.

Friends, a lot is still happening at your Church:

  • KICk
  • Youth Group
  • Council and Deacon’s Meetings
  • Wednesday Prayer Meetings
  • Pastor Ken is available at The Reach to meet and talk with you

I encourage you to reach out to each other. Then together we can connect with others from Fallingbrook Heights Baptist Church. We look forward to hearing from you via the survey, seeing you online and in person at The Reach.

We miss worshipping together and  look forward to when all of us can gather together again.
