Christmas Personified – Prophets for Profit

For Advent, Pastor Ken is starting a new series, entitled “Christmas Personified”.  Christmas is not a thing or an event; Christmas is a person.  Ken digs deeper and puts Christ back into Christmas as he begins this new series.  Scripture is taken from Isaiah 9:6-7, 11:1-5.

Pastor Ken has made two publications available to guide us through Advent and Christmas.  The first is a document entitled “Christmas Day by Day” and it guides you through Christmas using Scripture.  A PDF copy can be found here – just CLICK ON THIS LINK.

The second is a document provided by the CBOQ (Canadian Baptists of Ontario and Quebec) called “Advent Reader Online”.  It features articles written by the youth of the BCOQ from all over the world; one story for each day of Advent.  You can access this directly from the BCOQ web site at http://baptist.ca/advent/ or download here – just CLICK ON THIS LINK.

Spiritual Potpourri: The Stink of Sin!

This week Pastor Ken continues his journey exploring our spiritual olfactory senses.  Ken looks into how evil (sin) has made us smell unattractive (stink) to God; and what we can do to change that.  Inspiration is taken from a plethora of Scripture passages: Genesis, Exodus, 2 Corinthians, 1 Samuel, Psalm 40 & 51, Isaiah, Hebrews.

Spiritual Potpourri: The Scent of Salvation

How do you smell?  Do you omit and aroma that is pleasing to God?   Pastor Ken is back from vacation and he poses these very questions in a message entitled “The Scent of Salvation”.  The Scripture this week is taken from Genesis 8 and 2 Corinthians 2.

Live Wisely

Pastor Ken concludes his series on Ecclesiastes.  This week he looks at Solomon’s instructions to live wisely – in body, mind and spirit.  Pastor Ken first looks at Solomon’s hypothesis, then his antithesis and finally his conclusions.  His conclusions align with the ages and stages of peoples lives; first the young, then the middle age and finally those who are young at heart.
